The Effect of Organizational Change on Work Culture and Job Satisfaction At the Aceh Ministry of Religion Office

Abstract

The simplification of the bureaucracy mandated by President Joko Widodo in 2019 for all government agencies through trimming the structural levels of echelon officials which are equated to functional positions. It is hoped that the mechanism for cutting officials through a process of equalizing positions will have a positive impact on improving performance and service to the community. From the apparatus side, this effort is expected to motivate functional officials to achieve credit scores through increased performance, competency and achievement. At the Ministry of Religion of Aceh Province, the equalization of positions begins in December 2020. This change is expected to create a conducive organizational culture through ongoing changes so as to improve public services.
However, in its implementation there are still obstacles and conditions that are considered to be less efficient and flexible. Mechanisms that disappear instantly require each apparatus to readjust to a working environment that feels new. Likewise with service adjustments that require socialization of change service procedures as a result of reducing the number of organizational structures and trimming work procedures. All of that will have an impact on administrative management, work procedures, public services, and the budget.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of organizational changes on work culture and job satisfaction of employees of the Ministry of Religion of Aceh Province. The analysis was carried out using qualitative methods. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations and documentation. Document collection is carried out on relevant data and sources.
