Abstract
Environmental pollution adversely impacts ecosystems and human health. The function of cilia in cleaning foreign substances from the respiratory tract can be inhibited by pollution, leading to Acute Respiratory Infection (ISPA). Therefore, pollution control efforts are significant in maintaining air quality and preventing the spread of ISPA. The spread of ISPA can be predicted mathematically to control pollution. Because diverse pollution sources can complicate the modeling and prediction of the spread of ISPA, a sophisticated method is needed, such as the Ensemble Kalman Filter (EnKF). The advantage of the EnKF method is that it can increase the accuracy of predictions in the short term. This is important because it can influence decision-making during a disease outbreak. This study predicts the spread of ARI with a mathematical model X (Population not yet affected by Pollution)-P(Population affected by Pollution)-Y(Population infected) using the EnKF method.
