Abstract
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are diseases that require special attention due to the increasing prevalence of STDs, many of which are asymptomatic. Adolescents are one of the vulnerable groups to STDs because of high curiosity but limited access to reproductive health knowledge from teachers or formal education. To change the lack of knowledge about STDs, it can be started from the students health awareness as self-awareness is one of the life skills that can affect adolescents in making decisions to prevent STDs. This research aims to determine the relationship between STDs knowledge and self-health awareness of high school students. This research was carried out from January 2023 at SMA Negeri 29 Jakarta. The method used descriptive quantitative through correlational study approach. A sample of 108 people was determined by simple random sampling. Students STDs knowledge was measured using tests, and self-health awareness by questionnaires. The results of the pre-requisite test results indicated normal and homogeneous data. The calculated correlation coefficient was 0,620 that indicating a strong category correlation. Knowledge of STDs contributing of 38,4% to the student self-health awareness. This research concludes that there is a positive relationship between STDs knowledge and self-health awareness of high school students.
