The role of tjis festivals is measured in terms of its positive and negative impacts
resulted on local communities. Therefore, the research results show two factors
which are divided into each aspect, namely: benefits and burdens from economic
aspects, social-cultural aspects and environmental aspects.
Economic aspect: the most dominant benefit felt by the local community is increase
of employment opportunities for local communities- and the dominant economic
burden felt is increase in business competition.
Socio-Cultural aspect: The largest loading factor value or the most dominant benefit
felt by local communities is the increase community appreciation and mutual respect
for cultural differences- and the dominant socio-cultural burden felt is that
Gandrung Sewu Festival creates social disparities between local communities and
other stakeholders.
Environment aspect: The dominant benefit most felt by local communities is
represented by increase the preservation of trees as shade. And the negative impat
is pressures on the environment include traffic jams, overcrowded communities,
vehicle parking areas that interfere with the smooth running and privacy of the
community, and air quality also decreases. Apart from that, rubbish and noise are
sometimes things that often disturb the comfort of local communities due to the
impact of Gandrung Sewu Festival. However, the various environmental burdens felt
by the community are not that important, considering that although there are many
environmental burdens that must be borne, they are proportional to the benefits
obtained.
How enviromental aspect influence Banyuwangi local community
utilising the role for gandrung sewu festival amidst Mandar ethnic
traditions such as saulak and others in Banyuwangi Mandar Village
The community^s contribution to the Gandrung Sewu Festival emerged in the form of
appreciation for the cultural diversity in Mandar Village. The Mandar tribe community
does not prevent the Gandrung Sewu festival from being held, it is also included in the
category of passive participation. Meanwhile, in Mandar Culture such as Petik Laut

Thank you for presenting the research results which are very interesting, I would like to ask questions regarding the socio-cultural impact, one of which is the increase in stress or anxiety felt by many people, how to minimize this level of stress in relation to the Gandrung Sewu festival which is regularly held once a year? even though on the one hand, this festival has had a positive impact in terms of the economy and the surrounding community.

Based on the results of the analysis using factor analysis, it shows that there are
various negative impacts from environmental aspects felt by the community. However,
these negative impacts fall into the category of burdens that have benefits. Based on
the fact, the community is not very worried about environmental impacts, considering
that it is comparable to the positive impacts that have been received.
