Abstract
Identification of commodities needs to be done so that the development of the business sector is more efficient, provides added value and optimal results. This study aims to analyze the leading commodities and provinces that have a comparative advantage in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors on the island of Sumatra. The data used are GDP, sub-sector GRDP in 2015 - 2021, coming from BPS, BI, Bappenas, using the Location Quotient (LQ) and Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) method. The results show that all data have met the classical assumption test. The highest LQ value for each province on the island of Sumatra is different, but the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors are the basic sectors in all provinces. The RCA value shows that all provinces on the island of Sumatra have high competitiveness because they are able to meet their own regional needs and even export
