Application of digital comics to improve students^ critical thinking skills (a*)Magister of Biology Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Jakarta-Indonesia shania123.spa[at]gmail.com Abstract Critical Thinking Skills are one of the skills needed in the 21st century in developing education in Indonesia which is increasingly complex so it needs to be trained in schools. So the teacher^s efforts to improve the development of students^ critical thinking skills in the learning process include using learning media in the form of digital comics to obtain maximum learning results in biology material which is considered quite difficult, especially bacterial material, for around 85.7% of students. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test one-group design treatment design. The research hypothesis uses the dependent t-test. They are measuring critical thinking skills using 17 multiple-choice questions with reasons. Based on data analysis, the average pre-test score was 36.40. The average post-test score was 53.09. The t-test results show a significant value of 0.00 < α- = 0.05 and a calculated t-value < t-table of -20.913 <1.691, which means the difference is statistically significant or significant at a probability of 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of using digital comic learning media on bacterial material to improve students^ critical thinking skills.
