Abstract

Teaching materials are needed to support elementary school students in constructing an understanding of mathematical concepts. The stages of the student mathematics learning process can be carried out by designing a Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT). HLT can be designed using the STEAM model and integration of the local Bengkulu context. This research aims to describe the HLT design of STEAM teaching materials based on the local Bengkulu context of fraction material for elementary school students. The study was carried out in stages: analysis, design, and design testing. The test subjects involved 20 elementary school students in Bengkulu City. The results of the research show that fraction teaching materials in elementary schools can be integrated with STEAM aspects and given problems in the local context of Bengkulu. The open material design received a good response from students and teachers in its application.
