Reply from Mr. Manguni Wiria Darma Sinulingga 2024.11.05 12:43:11 Asset confiscation is an important instrument in efforts to eradicate corruption and money laundering in Indonesia. This concept refers to legal actions that divert or confiscate assets obtained from the proceeds of corruption crimes, to be returned to the state. Asset confiscation has an important role because it can eliminate profits from crime, recovering state losses. However, the effectiveness of this policy is still hampered by legal processes, asset tracking and management of confiscated assets. To increase its effectiveness, Indonesia needs to strengthen the legal system, increase the capacity of law enforcement officials, and expand international cooperation in fighting corruption and money laundering.
