The impact of the obligation to build WWTP on industrial sustainability is
beneficial to maintaining industrial sustainability. Where WWTP can help the
industry so that the level of waste is less and the concentration of pollutants is
safer to be discharged into the environment. This can help maintain the principle
of industrial sustainability and improve its image in the eyes of the community.
Apart from having a dedicated Wastewater Treatment Plant, every industry is also
required to monitor the quality of its wastewater on a regular basis. This is to
ensure that the processed products of the WWTP are in accordance with the
quality standards required by the government.
The impact of the obligation to build WWTP in terms of cost depends on how
much the industry^s cost budget is and the form of WWTP media. Usually the
industry has prepared a budget for the manufacture of WWTP as outlined in the
AMDAL Document before the industry operates. But in the environment, making
WWTP is an obligation of industrial businesses to manage the waste produced by
industrial businesses.
In terms of the production process, if in the production process business actors
do not manage their waste by making WWTP, it has an impact on environmental
pollution around the industry, therefore the importance of this WWTP is to control
the waste generated from the industrial production process so that the
environment around the industry is not polluted.
