Abstract
Public housing (Rusunawa) in Bandung City is in high demand, with an average occupancy rate exceeding 90%, indicating its role in addressing housing challenges. In addition, public housing is inherently linked to sustainable development through its role in promoting social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and economic stability. Sustainable public housing efforts contribute to multiple global objectives set out by the Sustainable Development Goals, aiming for cities and communities that are livable, equitable, and resilient that Bandung City is trying to build. This study aims to analyze the influence of factors such as attractiveness, facilities, environment, location, and building design on the decision to rent public housing. Using a descriptive method and a mixed-methods approach (quantitative and qualitative), four public housing complexes across Bandung City-Cingised, Rancacili, Sadang Serang, and Ujung Berung-were examined. The population consisted of residents of these complexes, and simple random sampling was employed. Data analysis included descriptive and regression analyses. The results show that attractiveness, environment, and design have a significant positive effect on the decision to rent public housing in Bandung City.
