Abstract

An injection molding machine is a tool used to form plastic-based products of a certain size and shape through the process of heating and applying pressure using a mold. The machine consists of two main parts: the injection unit, which heats the resin to melt and injects the material into the mold, and the clamping unit, which regulates the mold opening and closing mechanism and ejection of the final product. Machine operation can be manual or automatic, with the addition of a hydraulic system to aid movement and injection. Large-capacity machines are generally used in large industries, making it difficult for small industries to apply them. Therefore, a small-scale injection molding machine prototype was made to help small industries, which requires a support table and a hydraulic system to facilitate operation. This research aims to design a prototype injection molding machine support table according to the wishes of the buyer using the VDI 2221 method, which is superior because the design is tailored to consumer needs and takes into account ergonomic aspects.
