Abstract

When patients come for medical care and are suspected of having a serious condition, continuous monitoring of Vital Signs is crucial until the results return to normal. Additionally, vital signs monitoring helps nurses document patient progress to develop care plans. The manual system, which requires nurses to visit patient rooms for each check, is inefficient and time-consuming. Therefore, a remote monitoring wristband based on the Internet of Things (IoT) was developed for inpatient care. This wristband monitors heart rate and body temperature using MAX30102 and MLX90614 sensors, with data processed by an ESP32 microcontroller and decision-making for necessary actions by nurses using fuzzy logic. Data is displayed on a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) on the wristband and sent to a Telegram bot via Wi-Fi, allowing nurses to remotely monitor temperature and heart rate parameters in real-time. Testing results indicate that the Smart Health Bracelet provides highly accurate and reliable results, with an average error rate of 0,34% for body temperature and 0,42% for heart rate, which are well within acceptable limits.
