Abstract

This study constitutes a comprehensive systematic literature review aimed at elucidating the utilization of neuro-architectural approaches in elucidating the dominance of perception within vernacular domiciles. Neuro-architecture, as a discipline amalgamating principles of neuroscience with architectural design, is employed as a research methodology to unveil the fundamental elements influencing perceptual dominance within the context of vernacular residences. The investigation identifies and assesses a spectrum of pertinent literature, encompassing empirical, theoretical, and applicative research that encompasses neuro-architectural facets relevant to dwelling perception. Principal findings reveal correlations between spatial design, materials, colors, and additional architectural components with neurological responses and the perceptions of inhabitants towards the vernacular living environment. The outcomes of this research yield a profound comprehension of how neuro-architecture can serve as the cornerstone for understanding and enhancing perceptual dominance in vernacular dwellings. The implications of these findings have the potential to guide the development of housing designs that fortify inhabitants^ experiences through a more conscientious approach to the neurological dimensions inherent in spatial perception and living environments.
