Use of Remote Sensing Technology for Analysis of Mangrove Distribution and Density in Bengkalis District, Riau Province Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis Abstract The mangrove area in the coastal area of Bengkalis Regency continues to decline yearly, so proper area management is needed to provide valid and up-to-date information. Remote sensing technology is chosen for precise and efficient monitoring of mangrove areas. This study uses spatial remote sensing to analyze the distribution of mangrove forests and the level of mangrove density in the Bengkalis District. A SAVI analysis will be carried out using Landsat 9 Imagery in 2023 to map the distribution and density of mangroves in the study area. The study results show that mangroves in Bengkalis District are spread across every village in the coastal area, with a total mangrove area of 3,015.614 ha. Of the total area, the mangrove vegetation that forms the stands has different levels of density, consisting of 5 levels of greenness, namely non-vegetated land (33.75 Ha), very low greenness (57.04 Ha), low greenness (81.06 Ha), medium greenness (1,088.06 Ha), and high greenness (1,755.71 Ha).
