Abstract

This paper describes the design and manufacturing process of a motion platform for an aircraft simulator, which aims to provide a realistic simulation experience in aircraft flight for users. This platform is designed to be able to imitate 3 degrees of freedom (3-DOF) motion, namely rolling, pitching and yawing. The studies conducted include mechanical construction, kinematic analysis, and development of the electronic system of this device. In the process of manufacturing the electronic device, the wiper motor is selected as the main element of this system which is then modified into a servo using a closed-loop control method with a PID control law, so that it can rotate according to the command given, so that it can simulate the motion of the vehicle. While in the mechanical study, the design of the shape and selection of materials are carried out to ensure the strength of the frame structure. The initial version of this device has been successfully made with good results, where the wiper motor has been successfully developed into a servo and the platform structure can support the given load safely
