Abstract
Stakeholders will take environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into account when evaluating a company^s performance. Insurance businesses employ a variety of activities in the course of their operational procedures on a regular, planned, and sustainable basis to satisfy and enhance the company^s financial performance. This study employs a descriptive qualitative methodology and this kind of library research to: (1) identify the role of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) in enhancing the financial performance of insurance companies in Indonesia- and (2) identify the strategies employed by these companies to enhance performance. The results of the study show (1) The Role of Environmental Social and Governance (ESG): Determining competitive advantage and improving financial performance as well as ensuring the future sustainability of the company. (2) The strategy of Insurance Companies in Indonesia with Environmental Social and Governance (ESG), namely running a business with sustainable financial principles and making environmental-based service products. The implication of the research is that the application of Environmental Social and Governance in Insurance companies in Indonesia is expected to be able to encourage government programs in realizing Sustainable Development Governance (SDGs) in the field of sustainable finance.
