Abstract
This research is rooted in the determination of a community of housewives belonging to the Seruni Community in Jati Kulon Village, Kudus, Indonesia. They unite with a strong commitment to contribute to their family^s income.
The objective of this study is to investigate how Islamic ethics can be harmonized to support gender equality in the context of women^s economic empowerment. The research methodology involves document analysis, interviews, and a literature review to comprehend the concept of Islamic ethics and how it can be integrated into efforts to enhance women^s economic empowerment.
Based on the research findings, three empowerment programs were identified and utilized to empower women in this community: the packaging waste craft program, the ecoprint batik program, and the ecoenzym program. Economic empowerment of women aligns with the perspective advocated by Naqvi within the context of Islamic ethics.
This research carries significant implications for policies, practices, and community development seeking to promote gender equality in women^s economic empowerment based on Islamic ethical principles. The results are expected to guide further efforts in achieving gender equality and women^s economic empowerment in a society grounded in Islamic values.
