Abstract

The well-being of coastal communities in South Kalimantan is far from reality. One of the coastal areas in South Kalimantan is Kotabaru Regency indicated the Gini Ratio Index in 2021 is 0.306, higher than in 2020. Moreover, in Tanah Bumbu Regency, the Gini Ratio Index in 2021 is 0.288, lower than in 2020. The Gini index values mentioned indicate the presence of income inequality gaps that influence the consumption patterns of coastal communities. Therefore, this research is interesting to investigate with the aim of examining the consumption function model of coastal communities in South Kalimantan Province, both from a macro-economic perspective and a maslahat formulation.
This research used field research and survey methods. The study population consists of coastal communities, and the sampling technique used is area sampling. The selected samples include Tanah Laut Regency, Tanah Bumbu Regency, and Kotabaru Regency with a total of 60 respondents determined through quota sampling. Data collection used semi-structured interviews and then analyzed statistically used both the macro-economic consumption function formula and the maslahat perspective.
The research results indicate that the macro-level consumption function of coastal communities is represented by C = 2,697,434 + 0.17 Y with an APC value = 0.99 and APS value = 0.01. Subsequently, the Marginal Propensity to Consume (MPC) value = 0.17, with MPS (Marginal Propensity to Save) value = 0.83. Meanwhile, the maslahat-based consumption function model indicated Y = 3.368 + 0.725 C + 0.017 ZIS + 0.064, and for the value of Y = FS + S, it is Y = 2.853 + 0.775 FS + 0.65 S. The maslahat-based consumption function model shows ZIS value is 0.017, which indicated the low value of coastal community toward maslahat or seeking blessings.
