THE EFFECT OF ALKALI-FLUORIDE ON THE PHYSICAL AND STRUCTURE PROPERTIES OF Tb3+ DOPED ON PHOSPHATE GLASS MEDIUM Universitas Negeri Medan Abstract The phosphate glasses are prepared by melting and quenched technique. All ingredients are mixed homogeneously in a porcelain crucible and the melting process uses a furnace with a temperature of 1200 C for 3 hours. Followed by an annealing process for 3 hours at a temperature of 500 C. Glass that is not cracked and has good transparency will then be cut and polish. The physical properties analyzed include molar volume, density, refractive index, and others. The structure properties were obtained from X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR). The result of XRD spectra show that glass is an amorphous and FTIR spectra show that glass has symmetrical stretching of the P-O-P.
