Developing Reading to Learn (R2L) Learning Model to Increase Students^ Ability to Paraphrase Texts in Curriculum and Textbook Analysis Course at Universitas Negeri Medan

Abstract

Literacy ability to paraphrase a text is a competency which needs intensive drill because the process of parapharasing is not only reading and copy-pasting certain words into sentences. If it is done so, then plagiarism will happen. The analysis on the students^ recount text tended to copy-paste the original text. The purpose of the study was to develop Reading to Learn (R2L) by David Rose to guide the students to paraphrase appropriately. The research applied Borg and Gall model. The tentative result proved that the product can be implemented to increase the students^ ability to paraphrase a text.
